I can speak from personal experience in agreeing with you. Lightweight engagement and encouragement works fine in Discord. But deeper levels of engagement is going to take some real thought and some real investment. It's not going to come for free. I've been thinking quite a bit over the last few weeks about how we might go about this within the Token Engineering Commons. The first place I am drawn to is coming up with well defined engagement roles and then pathways for development for each one.

I like your thinking on the bounties idea. That might very well be the next step after welcoming in the process.
