I can’t say that I am surprised at the news that Zappos is moving away from Holacracy. I tried implementing something similar in my last organization and the amount of process required proved overwhelming in the end.

What’s interesting is that this market-based approach that they are taking sits within the microservices architecture that is Amazon. When you see the move in this context, it is actually very similar to the way that Amazon is supposed to run its internal businesses.
